ABC's of Christmas Card Making - E is for Encircled in Beauty Dies and Encircled in Warmth

E is for Encircled in Beauty Dies and Encircled in Warmth

This horizontal gate-fold card consists of 4 1/4" x 11" Sahara Sand cardstock, scored at 2 3/4" from each end.  Each of the front panels has a layer of Misty Moonlight, 2 5/8" x 4 1/8" and layer of the Whimsy & Wonder  DSP, 2 1/4" x 4".  The circular layers are from the Encircled Beauty Die Set.  Both sentiments are from the Encircled in Warmth Stamp Set.

This vertical gate-fold card is a 4 1/4" x 11"  Soft Succulent cardstock, scored at 2 1/2", and 8" along the long side.  I used the curved Basic Border Die to trim the top flap.  Both of the front flaps are layered with Tidings of Christmas DSP, 2 1/4" x 4" and 2 3/4" x 4".  I wrapped a 14" piece of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon, adhering it under the circular label onto the top flap. The sentiment circle on the front cover is cut from Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand cardstock and has some coordinating Mat Decorative Dots. The inside of the card has a 5 1/4" x 4" Sahara Sand cardstock with a sentiment from Encircled in Warmth stamped.

ABC's of Christmas Card making continued... # for Evergreen Elegance

E is for Evergreen Elegance

This fancy fold card is called a bridge card.  I used the Evergreen Elegance Bundle, Majestic Mountain Dies, and Giving Gifts Dies to create this fun-fold Christmas Card.

Measurements:

• The base card is 4 1/4" x 8", scored at 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" on each side.
• From the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut from the small tree patterned paper into four strips 1 1/8" x 4" and glue onto each narrow panel.  From the DSP panel that has silver trees along each of the opposite sides, cut a piece that is 2 3/4 x 4 1/8" for the center panel.  
• Die-cut three Pine trees from Majestic Mountains Die Set, and adhere them; one in the center panel, and the two others in the outermost panels.  Be sure to keep the tree placed so that they are within the far-left and far-right margins. 
• To create the bridge, cut 1 1/4" X 5 1/2" piece of Window Sheet, 3/4" x 5 1/2" Evening Evergreen,  and another piece of Evening Evergreen that is 5 1/2" wide, to punch the tree line across one side using the Evergreen Border Punch.  
• Use Versamark Ink and Silver Embossing Powder to stamp the sentiment, Merry Christmas and two silver stars.   Add the stars to the top of the left and right trees.
• From a 2" x 3" piece of silver foil, die-cut the Santa and reindeer tag outline.  Trim the tag to fit along the edges, just leaving enough to place diagonally across the center panel over the center tree.
• Adhere the punched tree line to line up with the top of the window sheet and then add the sentiment strip across the bottom of the window strip. 
• Finish off the card with a Basic White panel on the back of the center panel.  Option to stamp the sentiment from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set, leaving room for personalized note and signature.

The card's double scoreline serves as a book fold, to which the faux ribbon adheres. The Christmas Season Stamp set is a distinctive, two-step stamp set.  Use the Soft Suede ink for the wider base of the pine cones, and the Early Espresso ink for the detailed edges of the pine cones.

Spring Bunny Pull Tab Fun-fold Easter Card

I chose to use the Playful Pattern 6" x 6 Designer Series Paper for this project because of the round colorful circles that resemble Easter Eggs.  So the first layer is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" of Crushed Curry, scored and folded in half at 4 1/4".  The next layer is cut from Purple Posey, coordinating with the DSP, to 5 1/4" x 4" and can be adhered directly onto the Crushed Curry card base. 

Now the DSP layer is 5" x 3 3/4", but doesn't adhere until the pull tab mechanism is completely created.  Use the Classic Label Punch pushed all the way to the center of the card to punch out the slit opening for the pull tab.  Now, setting that piece aside, let's begin working on the pull tab mechanism.

I used the coordinating colors of Purple Posey and Basic White cardstock for this center, pull tab piece.  Use the scalloped squares of 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" from layering circles to cut one Purple Posey 2 1/2" scalloped square and two Basic White 2 1/4" scalloped squares. Also, cut one Purple Posey piece to 2" x 6", scored at 3 3/4" and 4".  Use the Scalloped Tag Punch to trim the end of the longer section.    After burnishing the two scorelines, put glue on the 1/2" section.  Place the Purple Posey scalloped square flush to the second scored line so that the scalloped square is on top of the 1/2" strip with the glue.  

Stamp the images and sentiments on the two Basic White scalloped squares, and color in as desired.  Wrap some Coral Calypso ribbon around the Basic White scalloped square, and use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it to the front of the Purple Posey scalloped square.  Tie the Coral Calypso ribbon into a bow.  The second Basic White piece will need to be trimmed about 1/4" from the left to adhere onto the 2" inside square of the flap.  Slide the longer tag end through the DSP slit, adjusting it so that it does not extend past the card edge.  Then put some adhesive under the smaller flap of the pull tab to hold it in place on top of the DSP.  (You might want to try holding it in place and pulling the tab before using the liquid adhesive to permanently place it.)

 

To finish off the card, I inserted another piece of ribbon in the eyehole of the scalloped tag and made a quick, simple knot.  I used a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White to stamp two chicks and another sentiment on the inside of my card.  Enjoy making it.
