Simpy Stampin' on Saturday - Purse for Lip Balm or Hand Lotion and Whimsical Christmas Card

Small Purse made with accented bottom
I decided to extend my original purse design to show a trim of red at the bottom of the purse.  The bottom of the purse is made from Real Red Cardstock - 2 3/4" x 6 1/2"-score the short side at 1", 1 3/4" to fold and burnish.  I added a light scoreline at 3/4" and 2" to show me where to attach the DSP so that both sides of the purse are symmetrically placed. On the long side, I scored at 1" and 5 1/2".  Trim the sides to make the folds and box for the purse base.  The two pieces of DSP are cut 4 1/2" x 3 to create the two panels for the purse.  These are adhered 1/4" from the bottom of the purse base.  I used a 1" x 3" strip of Real Red, folded in half, for the purse closure and a 5/8" Velcro circle to attach the front.  The straps are two 6" pieces of the Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon.  Stamp a sentiment on a small circle and layer that onto a coordinating scalloped circle.

One piece of 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper is used to make this shorter version of the purse.  Score on the long side at  2 3/8" and 3 5/8".  On the short side, score at 3/4" and 5 1/4".

This whimsical card made is with the Warm & Toasty stamp set.  I used Night of Navy for the base, 4 1/4" x 11".  The inside of the card has a piece of Whisper White, 5 1/4" x 4, with image and sentiment stamped in Night of Navy ink.  The outside of the card has an embossed (Winter Snowflake) 2 1/4" x 4" piece of Seaside Spray and a 4" x 3" piece of Plaid Tidings DSP, trimmed with a strip of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.  The Night of Navy image and sentiment are on a 2" Circle Punch piece of Whisper White, layered onto a 2 1/4" Scalloped Circle Punch Night of Navy piece.  I added a piece of the Square Vellum Doilie under the layered circles and then finished it off with some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestones.

Thursday's Sip & Stamp - Mini Wine Boxes & Cheese Crackers Treat Wraps

Watch Facebook Live for details in making these projects

I love wine, cheese, and crackers any day!  So I was inspired to create these complimentary giftables:  a wine gift box and cheese cracker wrap.

These wine boxes have the same basic dimensions for scoring and assembling the boxes.  The major difference is one measurement that alters the height of the box.  Many bottled beverages fit in the width of this box.  For the taller box, which fits a Demi or Half bottle of wine or Prosecco, you will need to use a 12 X 10 1/2" sheet of Night of Navy Cardstock.  For the shorter bottle of wine, a Piccolo or Split, the Night of Navy cardstock is 8 1/2" x 10 1/2".  In both cases, you will score the 10 1/2" side at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2"", and 10".  Make a quick turn to the adjacent side and then score one end at 2 1/2", which will actually be trimmed for the bottom tabs.  Each of the four sides will need a piece of Designer Specialty Paper cut to 2 1/4" x 5  or 2 1/4" x 8 1/2" for the taller box.   To make the lid, cut a piece of 4 9/16" x 4 9/16" Night of Navy cardstock.  Score all four sides at 1", cutting the tabs on each side, and folding to create the sides of the lid.  The lid can be topped with a 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of DSP or sentiment tag.
I used the Sounds of the Season dies to cut out bells to embellish the front of the box.  Additionally, I used a Square Vellum Doilie and Night of Navy ribbon.

The cheese cracker wrap is so easy to make.  One sheet of Designer Speciality Paper cut at 6" x 5.75", scored on the long side 1 3/4", 2 1/2", 4 1/4", and 5"; and on the short side scored at 3/4".  Once burnished, and the tabs trimmed, adhere the 1/2" tab across to the opposite side to create the enclosed box.  Close and adhere the bottom flaps.  Use the 1/2" punch to create the hole about 1/2" from the top of the enclosure opening.  This is a great way to feature a beautiful ribbon, as it will be used to wrap around and pull up the cracker package.  Thread the ribbon from the outside in on one side, use the cracker package to push the ribbon down, and then push out the ribbon from the inside out, bringing it up to create a big bow.  When you pull up on the bow, the ribbon will pull up the cracker package.  I used the Label Me Lovely Punch to create the Green Foil label.  Cut it in half down the center and attach it to the backside of a Whisper White sentiment label punched from the same Label Me Lovely Punch.
